Dar Global appoints contractor for Ras Al-Khaimah project

Saudi Arabia-headquartered real estate developer Dar Global has appointed Dubai-based firm Gulf Asia Contracting to build its Astera by Aston Martin project.

The beachfront development is being built on Al-Marjan Island in the UAE's northern emirate of Ras Al-Khaimah.

The project will have a total development value of about AED900m ($245m) and is expected to be completed by 2028.

The enabling works are being undertaken by UAE-based Stromek Emirates Foundations.

Dar Global, a subsidiary of Dar Al-Arkan, was one of the first Saudi brands to list on the London Exchange.

Dar Al-Arkan established Dar Global in 2017 to focus on developing projects comprising second and vacation homes across the Middle East and Europe, including in Dubai, Qatar, Oman, London and the Costa del Sol in southern Spain.

Dar Global has $7.5bn-worth of projects under development in six countries: the UAE, Oman, Qatar, Saudi Arabia, the UK and Spain.

It completed three developments – the Urban Oasis and Da Vinci towers in Dubai and the Sidra gated community in Bosnia – in 2023.

The company collaborates with global brands including Missoni, W Hotels, Versace, Elie Saab, Automobili Pagani and Automobili Lamborghini.

Dar Global’s latest contract award is backed by heightened activity levels in the UAE real estate market, where schemes worth over $323bn are in the execution or planning stages.

This is in line with a forecast by UK analytics firm GlobalData, which projects that the output of the UAE construction sector will grow by 4.2% in real terms in 2025, supported by developments in infrastructure, energy and utilities and residential construction projects.
