Bahrain Mumtalakat Holding Company, in collaboration with M42 group’s subsidiary Amana Healthcare, has commenced the construction of a new specialised long-term care and rehabilitation facility in Bahrain.

The project represents Amana Healthcare’s expansion into the Bahrain region.

The facility will have a capacity of 100 beds and is designed to cater to the growing demand for “high-quality healthcare services in the country”.

In addition to the beds, the 15,000 square-metre facility will feature a hydrotherapy pool, two large gyms, two majlises and gardens, all aimed at providing a holistic approach to patient care.

The facility is expected to open its doors and commence operations in 2025.

A groundbreaking ceremony on 23 September marked the beginning of construction.

Amana Healthcare Bahrain CEO and M42 Bahrain acting CEO Mohamed AlSaati, as well as other attendees from Amana Healthcare, attended the groundbreaking ceremony.

AlSaati said: “We are looking forward to seeing Amana Healthcare take shape in Bahrain, ready to positively impact people in the kingdom.”

Situated in the Al-Jasra area of Bahrain, the Amana Healthcare facility is expected to be the first international provider of specialised long-term care and post-acute rehabilitation services in Bahrain.

Mumtalakat Local Impact Investments managing director Khalid Hussain Taqi said: “The launch of Amana Healthcare will allow us to leverage M42’s expertise in delivering world-class care, ensuring that technology and innovation are at the forefront of one of the most vital sectors – healthcare.”
