US-based firm Falcon’s Creative Group has announced that it is undertaking the masterplan and attraction design and is the creative lead for the upcoming Dragon Ball theme park in Qiddiya.

The theme park will cover more than 500,000 square metres and will have seven themed zones inspired by the Japanese media franchise, including Kame House, Capsule Corporation and Beerus’ Planet.

The park will offer more than 30 rides with five main attractions, including a rollercoaster that passes through a 70-metre landmark based on the series’ wish-granting dragon Shenron.

The development will also include themed hotels.

In March, Qiddiya Investment Company (QIC) announced the launch of the Dragon Ball theme park in its Qiddiya entertainment city on the outskirts of Riyadh.

The announcement came after QIC signed an agreement with the Japanese firm Toei Animation, the producer of the Dragon Ball anime series.

Saudi Arabia's Crown Prince and Prime Minister Mohammed Bin Salman Al-Saud launched the urban design for Qiddiya City in December 2023.

Qiddiya City will be an entertainment destination established on a 367-square-kilometre site about 45 kilometres from Riyadh city centre. In addition to the Dragon Ball theme park, it will include a gaming and e-sports district, a speed park, golf courses, a water theme park, a Six Flags theme park and a multipurpose stadium.

The masterplan images also show several mixed-use tower buildings.

The project is funded directly by Saudi sovereign wealth vehicle the Public Investment Fund.
