UAE’s Lulu Group completes solar rooftop project

1 October 2025

UAE-headquartered Lulu Group has completed the installation of solar power systems at five Dubai-based facilities.

The project covers Lulu Hypermarkets in Al Warqa, Dubai Investment Park (DIP) and Rashidiya, as well as Lulu Central Logistics in DIP and the group’s regional office in Dubai.

The systems will be operated and maintained by UAE's Positive Zero, a clean energy firm that focuses on distributed solar and sustainability schemes. The firm also delivered the project.

The rooftop systems are expected to generate about 37 million kWh of clean energy over the 10-year lease period.

Lulu and Positive Zero have previously collaborated on distributed solar facilities in the UAE and Bahrain, including retail and logistics sites.

The initiative will offset around 25,000 tonnes of carbon dioxide emissions, with the energy generated enough to meet the needs of over 3,300 homes annually, Lulu said.

The agreement extends the existing partnership, which has been in place since 2020.
