20 February 2023

Dubai-based DarGlobal, owned by Saudi Arabia-headquartered real estate company Dar al-Arkan, has selected China State Construction Engineering Corporation – Middle East (CSCEC ME) as the main contractor for its AED237m ($64.5m) W Residences tower in Downtown Dubai.

The deal involves the construction of 384 residential units and associated facilities, as well as parking spaces, a co-working area, meeting rooms, a clubhouse and a media room.

The scheme is scheduled for completion by December 2025.

Stromek Emirates Foundation was appointed in 2022 to undertake the shoring, excavation and piling works for the project.

BHNS Engineering Consultants is the architect of record and supervises the enabling package.

W Residences Dubai – Downtown is Al-Arkan Properties’ third project in Downton Dubai. It will be managed by Marriott International.

DarGlobal is the international arm of Saudi Arabia’s largest property developer, Dar al-Arkan.

The firm is expanding its portfolio with developments in locations including the UAE, Oman, the UK and Spain.

Last December, Dar al-Arkan announced plans to list DarGlobal on the London Stock Exchange during the first quarter of 2023.
