Qiddiya completes Six Flags theme park construction

24 December 2025

Saudi Arabia’s Qiddiya Investment Company (QIC) has announced the completion of construction works on the Six Flags theme park in Qiddiya City.

The announcement was made by Abdullah Al-Dawood, managing director of QIC, at a press conference on Tuesday.

Al-Dawood confirmed that Qiddiya will open its first entertainment asset, Six Flags, on 31 December, describing it as “a major boost for the entertainment sector and a defining milestone in the project’s development”.

He added that Six Flags Qiddiya City will offer visitors the chance to experience record-setting attractions, led by the Falcon Roller, which he said has set three world records as the longest, fastest and highest roller coaster in the world.

Al-Dawood said the opening marks the start of a phased rollout of around 70 assets, to be announced progressively under Qiddiya’s operational plan.

He added that construction is already under way on several additional assets, including Prince Mohammed Bin Salman Stadium, the Performing Arts Centre, the Speed Track, Mercedes-Benz Performance World, golf clubs, and the gaming and esports zone.

Al-Dawood said construction works on the Aquarabia water park are 95% complete.

MEED reported in March that QIC was planning to inaugurate the Six Flags theme park by the end of this year.

In February, QIC officially appointed US-based Six Flags Entertainment Corporation as the operator for the Six Flags theme park and Aquarabia water park.

In December 2021, QIC awarded a SR3.75bn ($1bn) contract to the joint venture of France’s Bouygues Batiment International and the local Saudi Almabani General Contractors to construct the Six Flags theme park at Qiddiya.

The theme park will cover an area of 320,000 square metres and feature 28 rides and attractions, 10 of which will be thrill rides and 18 designed for families and young children.
