Lebanese firm wins QatarEnergy pipeline contract

QatarEnergy has awarded Lebanon-headquartered CAT Group a contract for providing pipeline integrity services.

The value of the contract won by CAT Group is approximately $44m, QatarEnergy announced on its public tenders platform.

The contract broadly involves engineering, procurement, construction and installation works for consolidated pipeline and piping replacement works.

QatarEnergy did not provide details about the scope of work, only adding that the duration of the contract is 21 months.

New offshore tender

Separately, QatarEnergy has issued a tender for cementing, pumping and acid services for its offshore operations.

Contractors have been asked to submit bids for the tender by 2 April, according to the tender released on QatarEnergy’s public tenders platform.

The scope of work on the contract covers provision of cementing chemicals, additives, cementing slurries, spacers, materials, consumables and downhole tools.

The contract also calls for other services such as:

  • Mixing and pumping of cement
  • Primary and remedial cementing
  • Single-stage and two-stage cementing
  • Special purpose cement
  • Light and heavyweight cement slurries
  • Cementing of all types of casing and liners
  • Lost circulation cement plugs
  • Plug and abandonment cement plugs
  • Squeezing off perforations and open hole
  • Killing wells
  • Drawdown tests
  • Pressure testing surface and downhole tubulars
  • Rig-based acidisation and cementing engineering services.

In addition, the selected contractor will be required to provide pumping services for pipelines, wellbore, coil tubing, well killing, plus well integrity investigations services, including preparation and submission of end of job documentation for oil and gas offshore wells.

The duration of works is 64 months, including an initial mobilisation period of four months.
