Dewa extends 132kV substation bid deadline

21 June 2024

State utility Dubai Electricity & Water Authority (Dewa) has extended the bid deadline for a 132 kilovolt (kV) substation package, which has multiple elements.

The tender entails the supply, installation, testing and commissioning of 132kV cables across several locations, including Tasmeem, Hatta, Murooj, Meaisem, Melaiha and Garn Sabkha, among others.

Interested bidders have until 24 June to submit their proposals, Dewa announced. The previous bid deadline was 3 June.

The work scope covers 132/11kV substations and 132kV cable circuits in other areas, as well as additional fibre optic cabling enhancement circuits and associated works.

The state utility has set a tender bond of AED12.5m ($3.4m) for the project.

Dewa recently opened the bids it received for another 132kV substation package.

The project scope covers the supply, installation and commissioning of 132kV cable works for network reinforcement, modification, overhead lines and remote end works. It also includes two shunt reactors at two separate 132/11kV substations.

A local contractor, Acume Electrical Engineering Services, submitted the lowest bid of AED40m ($11m) while India's Kalpataru Power Transmission submitted the highest offer of AED390m.
