The front-end engineering design (feed) work for a major project to maximise productivity from the Haradh oil and gas field development in Saudi Arabia’s Eastern Province is expected to be completed within six months, according to industry sources.

The project aims to increase gas production from the Haradh hydrocarbons field development and build a new gas-oil separation plant (GOSP) at Haradh.

“Like many projects in Saudi Arabia, this project is being fast-tracked and there are expectations that the design work will be completed in a short amount of time,” says one source.

The main contract for the project is expected to be worth about $300m.

The scope of the project includes:

  • Construction of a gas-oil separation plant (GOSP)
  • Construction of gas gathering facilities
  • Construction of water injection pumps
  • Construction of gas processing facilities
  • Support and utility facilities
  • Construction of oil and water offshore platforms
  • Installation of associated pipelines
  • Construction of associated facilities

An invitation to bid for the main engineering, procurement, and construction (EPC) contract is expected to be issued once the feed work has been completed.
