Contractors prepare Al-Habtoor tower bids

8 March 2023

Dubai-based Al-Habtoor Group has invited contractors to submit bids by 18 March for the contract to build its AED4.5bn ($1.22bn) residential tower development at Al-Habtoor City in Dubai.

It is understood that four to five contractors have been invited to bid for the contract.

When launching the project in January this year, Khalaf Ahmad al-Habtoor, the founding chairman of Al-Habtoor Group, said the development will include the world’s tallest residential tower.

Al-Habtoor also said that the expanded portfolio will be financed internally. He said: “The strong economic recovery in Dubai in 2022 and the high development levels that have reached new heights not even witnessed before the Covid-19 crisis were encouraging factors to be involved again in the real estate sector and increase investments in new quality projects.

“The complex is a vital destination for hospitality and entertainment,” Al-Habtoor added. “It is a vertical community that caters to all lifestyle needs with over 20 amenities, including a panoramic infinity pool overlooking the magnificent Dubai skyline.”

Germany’s Bauer is working on the foundations for the tower. The consultant is the local MAK Engineering Consultancy.

Developers are launching more towers in Dubai as the market moves from the recovery to the expansion phase. In recent months, there has been a series of high-rise tower launches by the likes of Binghatti, along with other towers launched by Damac Properties, Dar Global and Sobha Real Estate.
