Contractor appointed for Red Sea hotel project

Local contractor MAS Engineering & Construction Company has won a contract from Saudi developer Red Sea Global (RSG) to construct the Marina Lifestyle Hotel and Village at the Triple Bay Amaala development in Saudi Arabia. The project is scheduled for completion in the fourth quarter of 2026.

The award follows the deal signed with a joint venture of Egypt's Hassan Allam Holding and the local Rawabi Specialized Contracting for the construction of the Triple Bay Rosewood Hotel project in early May.

In March, RSG appointed Riyadh-headquartered Mobco Civil Construction as the main contractor for the Village Boutique Hotel at Marina Village. The project is expected to be completed by December 2024.

Amaala progress

Amaala is a coastal development that covers an area of about 2,500 square kilometres and will be developed in phases. Phase one, focused on the Triple Bay masterplan, is expected to be completed in 2027. It will consist of eight resorts offering upwards of 1,200 hotel keys.

The total development will include 27 hotels with a combined 37,000 keys.

RSG has adopted a construction management approach to deliver its projects. Schemes are divided into individual trade works packages procured by the developer, rather than awarded to a series of main contractors. There are typically about 20 works packages for each project.
