Sharjah-based real estate developer Arada has awarded the AED395m ($108m) main contract to the local Gulf Asia Contracting Company for the construction of Nasaq District, a cluster of six upscale apartment buildings at its mixed-use community Aljada in Sharjah.

Nasaq District will have 649 residential units, ranging from one to three-bedroom apartments. The project is expected to be completed by the fourth quarter of 2026.

UAE-based Mimar Group is working as a project consultant.

In January, Gulf Asia Contracting Company won a AED475m ($129m) contract to build the Vida Aljada hotel complex at the Aljada community.

The deal covers the construction of four buildings, including a 175-room hotel, 255 branded residences and 149 serviced apartments in the AED24bn Aljada cultural district. The four buildings form part of the Naseej District, which also contains a museum.

Arada is the developer behind three masterplanned residential communities in Sharjah. The Aljada, Masaar and Nasma Residences communities are together valued at AED33bn.

Spread across 24 million square feet in the Muwaileh district, the masterplan for Aljada contains residential districts, retail, hospitality, entertainment, sporting, educational and healthcare components, and a business park.

The developer secured funding for its Aljada project in January 2022.
