BP awards EPCm contract for global projects to KBR

16 January 2025

UK energy major BP has awarded US-based consultant KBR a contract for engineering, procurement and construction management (EPCm) services for projects across its global portfolio.

Under the terms of the contract, KBR will provide EPCm for onshore, offshore, greenfield and brownfield projects in the conventional oil and gas sector, as well as for projects in the new energy space.

The duration of the contract is three years, with an option to extend for two additional years.

KBR will also provide BP with licensed technology systems to be deployed on projects.

“This global agreement with BP will involve multiple project teams collaborating from offices in Houston, Baku, India, Abu Dhabi, Oman, Singapore, Perth and London,” said Jay Ibrahim, president of KBR Sustainable Technology Solutions.

BP and KBR currently have a global agreement for engineering services, under which KBR has participated in projects in the US, North Sea, Iraq, Africa and Azerbaijan.

The contract award to KBR comes just over a month after BP awarded Dubai-based consultant Kent a similar framework agreement to provide EPCm services across its global asset portfolio.

The duration of the agreement secured by Kent is also three years, with a two-year extendable option available.
