Chinese firm wins Gulf automation contracts

China-based industrial digital services provider Supcon has announced winning three automation contracts in the Gulf.

The first contract relates to a workforce and assets tracking solution project by Saudi Arabia’s maritime and shipbuilding services company International Maritime Industries (IMI).

Saudi Aramco holds the majority 50.1 per cent stake in IMI. Saudi Arabia’s Bahri has a 19.9 stake and international partners UAE/UK-based Lamprell and HHI – the world’s largest shipbuilder – hold stakes of 20 per cent and 10 per cent, respectively. IMI is developing the King Salman International Complex for Maritime Industries & Services in Ras al-Khair in Saudi Arabia’s Eastern Province.

The Shanghai Stock Exchange-listed firm also won another contract from Saudi Aramco for the provision of a smart safety and site monitoring solution.

The third contract covers the provision of instrumentation services to Kuwait Oil Company.
