Joint venture to build Amaala staff village

18 April 2023

Saudi gigaproject developer Red Sea Global (RSG) has awarded a joint venture of Greece’s Archirodon and Arabian Construction Company (ACC) the estimated SR1bn ($267m) contract to build the staff village at its Amaala development on the Red Sea coast of Saudi Arabia.

The staff village will include a mosque, a multifunctional hall, sports facilities and a beach club. The joint venture will be responsible for the complete engineering, procurement, installation, testing, commissioning and handover of residential assets, support assets and tertiary infrastructure.

It will also provide all logistics support required for the project's completion, including coordinating, interfacing and integrating all related works.

First phase

Located about 700 kilometres north of Jeddah, Amaala has a total area of 4,155 square kilometres, including 68 kilometres of coastline. Phase one is focused on the development of Triple Bay, which will be ready to welcome the first guests in 2024.

This initial phase of development consists of eight resorts with more than 1,200 hotel keys. Once fully complete, Amaala will be home to more than 3,900 rooms across 29 hotels, as well as residential units, retail and dining outlets and wellness and recreational facilities.

Contracts worth just under SR7.1bn have been awarded to date. MEED reported in March that RSG is confident it will achieve its plans to award SR30bn of contracts across its Red Sea Project and Amaala developments this year.
