Saudi Arabia’s NWC awards Tabuk water contract

14 January 2026

Saudi Arabia’s Alkhorayef Water & Power Technologies (AWPT) has won a contract to operate and maintain water assets in Tabuk City.

The company announced on the Saudi stock exchange that it has signed a SR43.35m ($11.56m) contract with state-owned utility National Water Company (NWC).

The scope of work includes the operation and maintenance of water networks, pump stations, wells, tanks and related facilities across the city.

The contract has a duration of 36 months.

AWPT is working with NWC on several projects in Saudi Arabia following recent contract awards.

In November, NWC awarded AWPT a contract to deliver the next phase of major sewer network expansion works in Hafar Al-Batin and Al-Qaisomah governorate.

The phase four (part two) package involves constructing about 184 kilometres of sanitary sewer pipeline, with diameters ranging from 200mm to 700mm.

The utility awarded a similar contract to AWPT in August for a sewage network scheme in Al-Kharj governorate.

This project comprises the construction of 112km of new sewage networks across multiple neighbourhoods in Al-Kharj, using high-density polyethylene, glass-reinforced plastic and perforated pipes ranging from 200mm to 1,200mm in diameter.
