Saudi Aramco has signed 17 memorandums of understanding (MoUs) and agreements with US companies, with a potential total value of more than $30bn.

The deals, which cover liquefied natural gas (LNG), financial services, advanced materials manufacturing, and the procurement of materials and services, were signed during Saudi Crown Prince and Prime Minister Mohammed Bin Salman’s state visit to the US.

The MoUs and agreements announced by Aramco include:

LNG

  • MidOcean Energy: MoU related to potential investment in the Lake Charles LNG project.
  • Commonwealth LNG: related to a liquefaction project located in Louisiana, and Aramco Trading’s potential purchase of LNG and gas.

Procurement of materials and services

  • Contracts and agreements with US suppliers: SLB, Baker Hughes, McDermott, Halliburton, NESR, KBR, Flowserve, NOV, Worley and Fluor.

Advanced materials manufacturing

  • Syensqo: extension of MoU to explore localisation of carbon fibre and advanced composites for industrial applications.

Financial services

  • Wisayah asset management and investment agreements with Loomis Sayles, Blackstone and PGIM.
  • J P Morgan: strategic collaboration for cash account management.

These MoUs and agreements, signed in Washington DC, build on the 34 MoUs and agreements signed between Aramco and US firms in Riyadh in May, which had a potential total value of approximately $90bn, supporting potential collaboration opportunities with companies in the US valued at around $120bn.
