Contractor begins $480m King Salman Park infrastructure works

5 November 2025

Riyadh-based contractor Haif Company has begun construction on the second phase of infrastructure at King Salman Park in Riyadh.

The scope of the package includes earthworks; roads and landscaping; electrical street lighting; extra low-, low- and medium-voltage distribution systems; irrigation networks; potable water networks; and sanitary sewage, stormwater management and district cooling networks.

MEED understands that the King Salman Park Foundation (KSPF) awarded the estimated SR1.8bn ($480m) contract in July this year.

This is the latest package for King Salman Park to make progress. The park was launched by King Salman in March 2019, alongside the Green Riyadh, Riyadh Art and Riyadh Sports Boulevard projects.

King Salman Park covers an area of about 17 square kilometres (sq km) and is located south of King Abdullah Road, north of Makkah Al-Mukkarramah Road and west of the Eastern Ring Road in Riyadh.

Once completed, it will have 12 kilometres of green space, over 150 attractions, 10 million square metres of built-up areas and 18,000 parking spaces.

Construction of King Salman Park, set to be the world’s largest urban park, is progressing on schedule.

KSPF is developing the masterplanned King Salman Park project to help fulfil Saudi Arabia's Vision 2030 economic diversification mandate.
