Saudi firm wins Aramco oil field facilities contract

Saudi Aramco has awarded Saudi Arabia-based AlMeer Saudi Technical Services a lump-sum turnkey contract for the relocation of groundwater wells at its North Ghawar onshore oil field development.

The contract covers the relocation of 11 groundwater wells at 11 gas oil separation plants (GOSPs) at the North Ghawar field development, Al-Khobar-headquartered AlMeer , without revealing the value or the duration of its contract.

AlMeer’s scope of work on the contract includes the detailed engineering, procurement, installation and commissioning of:

  • Electrical submersible pumps (ESPs)
  • Piping systems connecting to each GOSP (metallic and non-metallic)
  • Well topside facilities
  • Associated civil, electrical, instrumentation and control works

This is the second Aramco contract award that AlMeer has announced winning recently. Earlier in October, the contractor secured a framework contract from the Saudi energy giant for the delivery of power systems electrical infrastructure for its projects in the kingdom.

The duration of that contract is five years, with a two-year extension option.

The scope of services covered by the framework contract are as follows:

  • Electrical systems involving power transformers, switchgears, power and fibre optic cables and power system automation;
  • End-to-end delivery spanning design, engineering, procurement, construction, installation, testing, pre-commissioning and commissioning;
  • Catering to all areas under Aramco’s power operations department, including Dhahran, Riyadh, Jeddah, Yanbu, Abqaiq, Khursaniyah and several other locations in the kingdom.
